Best photograph I've seen on this forum for quite a while. Congratulations.

How do you grow this beauty?

Hi,

I bought it from Paramount Orchids formerly in Calgary a few years ago. They had it mounted on epiweb and it's still on the same mount. It grows in the warmer end of my greenhouse. 16 or 18 degrees C at night in the winter. Two layers of 30% shade cloth in the summer. One layer in the winter. I water it every day using rainwater. It gets fertilized once or twice a week all year. The fertilizer is any balanced fert. with micronutrients that I have at the time at about 250 ppm total dissolved solids most of the year but about twice that amount for three months in the spring. About 20% of the time I will have added either calcium nitrate or magnesium sulphate at around 50 ppm to the irrigation water. I have another one which I mounted on a pad of sphag. to keeps the roots moist. It did not like that and is still recovering.

I hope this is useful information.

wow very nice flowers

Thank you and the others for the positive comments.

By the way, I am envious of most of the wonderful province you live in. I visited Quebec and the maritime provinces a few years ago and loved what I saw and the people I met. I live in a 'young', flat and affluent (recently, and, unfortunately, not affluent for me) part of Canada. Public art and architecture is a hard sell here. I would like to visit your part of our county again at a more leisurely pace some time soon.
