Almost black...

Darkest phal I have ever seen. Probably of Taiwan origin, raised locally and bloomed under air-conditioning. Hope it can rebloom here. Plant is very compact, leaves roundish like bellina, spike habit goes sideways with several flowers open semi-successively.

There was an article in the last issue of the Orchid Digest with a photo of that plant in it. That's what I was thinking, also.
