I got this in 2012 from Oak Hill Gardens, and finally this is the first bloom. It's a common species, but this is my first time seeing it in person. I'm pretty impressed by the waxy texture and the size of the flower! I was teaching Intro to Plant Biology last semester, and I was hoping to show the flower to the students. Unfortunately, the flower opened a bit too late.
