This is White Royal 'Pinkie' x Meadowsweet 'Purity'

This is the first to flower.

The rest of the flask may flower next year.

Below is two of this plant along with each of its parents.

Congrats Jim! This got the best from both parents.

I don't like White Royal 'Pinkie' very much. But its parents, Whitemoor as well as Paeony, belong to my all time favorites of vintage Paphs! Their qualities are shown very well in their grandchild. I really would love to breed on with P.(White Royal 'Pinkie' x Meadowsweet 'Purity').

How long did it take to get this from flak to flower?

That White Royal bred on is surprising. Do you know which clone of Whitemoor was used? 'Ashlands' and 'Norriton' are counted tetraploids, and as far as I know Paeony plants are not. Meadowsweet 'Purity' is such a beautiful flower, despite its registration in 1957. Shows why it won the Moore Medal that year...
