Hagrid is a beau...and if the dark beauty, when fully opened, likewise deserves a clonal name, maybe 'Mdme Olympe' or 'Mdme Maxime' might be an appropriate proposal?!

Yesterday, I discovered that my first fairrieanum in bud had blasted...so here 'Avada Kedavra' seems more in place!

Well Jens, don't feel too bad... two of my fairrieanum albums buds blasted too. Now I am left with only 4 spikes on the four first bloom seedlings. Sad sad sad....

Jens, not sure why the blasted album buds, but yet another blasted. So three left. I thought maybe the poor air quality but my malipoense bud is still good and opening. Perhaps temperatures too wide a swing or humidity too low. But they were all in same area and same care. Maybe because they are newly potted as well. My other two fairrieanum typica adults are spiking nicely.

CPManiac, your bloom colour is nice.. dorsal has yet to expand over the week?

No, I doubt the dorsal will get any wider. I bloomed a sibling, and it is much the same. The 'Hagrid' clone from OZ, has the best shape of my plants.

Another in bloom now is 'Radiation'. It has a bit better dorsal:

They are both beautifull...and agreed 'Radiaton' has the better dorsal, but I tend to prefer the seedling due to its darkhued, saturated colouring! And as a first time bloomer migtn't there be a chance for further development of size in the following flowerings?

loving this thread, getting to see so many fairrieanum variations. This seedling is my favorite so far. The depth of color and I love the shape. Beautiful and exotic. For me, “Hagrid” has a dorsal that’s too big. I like this small, bright, curly flower. Hope mine eventually come out this good!
