Many have already posted much better photos of their fairrieanums that are currently blooming, but I have a question about one of mine. I’ve purchased several from Theresa/Hillsview and these are a couple that are blooming for the first time. The white one is actually from a breeding of the typical red form: ‘Radiator’ x ‘Stunning’. When I was at Theresa’s open house this spring she mentioned that that cross was occasionally throwing off ‘whites’. What is the offficial term for a white form of a breeding that is not from a cross of two whites. My botany/genetics is a bit rusty:) I’ve been looking for white fairrieanums for over a year so am thrilled to have it, even if its pouch and bloom are a bit wonky this first blooming.

It still would be called alba/album. Many of the alba/album forms of a species. are not a natural occurrence. They are often from artificial breeding, an "accidental" outcome of the regular color forms. I have an album x self and I hope it will be a real white form...
Very nice!
