Last night I finally got the mouse that was eating the buds and petals on this one.I figured I could take it down now, since its not my bait for the little mouse anymore. You would think after 3 buds and half a flower he would of been full!

Very nice. Love this very fragrant beauty. :)

Thats one of the reasons I keep it around, and that it blooms off of every new growth for me year after year.Next year the mouse traps will stay out longer into spring.LOL!

Would you mind telling us how you do it? I've got a plant your size, next to my adult Cattleyas, but it's just not flowering for me. Anything special in your mind, that makes the difference?

Cheers, Martin

Beautiful! My digbyana is getting ready to bloom, too.

Edited to add: I grow my digbyanas hanging high up in the greenhouse with as much sun as possible. These guys can take it.

The gh gets shading but this is up against the ceiling on the west wall,so it gets a good amount of light.I use Kool Ray shading compound,so I couldn't tell you the exact % since I have put so many coats on over the years.I mix about a 1/2 gallon of the compound to 5 gallons water of it at a time.I put 1 to 3 coats on in the spring, depending on how much wore off through the fall-winter.I just go by the old 'Hand Shadow 1 ft away from the bench' trick to tell when I have enough on.

I, too, use the Kool-Ray shading, but I couldn't tell you the mix ratio. But it's very bright where I grow my plants. They can take the light and they can take the heat. If you're plant is blooming-size and isn't blooming, I recommend you increase the light level.

I missed the ? asking for growing tips, but light would be what I would of said too. When it comes to watering I just let it barely let it dry out in between waterings in the summer, and in the winter it probably gets completely dried out in between waterings. Its pretty much root bound and instead of a bigger pot,it needs a bigger pot.It already weighs a ton,so I just hack off whatever grows too far over the side.

Mine is also hanging up at the very top of my brightest growing area. It is a large branch mount and is watered about every other day. Grows and blooms well. This clone has no fragrance though! Pity!

he's from baltimore, so likely it gets fertilized with 'Old Bay' seasoning :) (mmm, crabs)

sounds like you need to get a different one.Mine stanks the whole gh up like lemons from the time it gets dark until the morning, and if it is venting in the evening I can smell it coming in the house.
