Bl. Morning glory is a superb primary hybrid between Brassavola nodosa and Laelia purpurata.

Big flower/small plant? Mine has been shooting out new growths(4) this summer & I kinda wonder if it's not blooming size???

Rose this only has 6 or 7 growths and has bloomed off the last 3 or 4 of them. It was a division and not a mericlone. This takes fairly high light to get it to bloom due to the nodosa parent. The leaves are about 6-7" long

Thanks Ron! The leaves on mine are easily that long & I have had it in the sunniest south spot in the GH! It's wait & see!

It's amazing how strong the nodosa's traits are in hybridizing, I'd like to see this crossed back onto L. purpurata and see if it looks a little more purpurata like. To be honest the only nodosa hybrid that I have seen and liked is when it is crossed onto Encyclia (or Prostechea, or Anachielum) cochleata.
