I lost this creep to crown rot while away on holiday. Truly was one of my favorites and it really stinks to loose it. Does anyone know where to get one or have one like this to sell or trade? The tag says Petula's Flare (Magical Contrasts 'Flirting Black; x Petulas Flame 'Lehua Contrasts; HCC/AOS). Most images just dont look right to me. Anything black, warty, and hairy, with high contrast in the center and dorsal I'd be interested in. I know it's asking a lot. the more weird the better.

Try reaching out to Lehua Orchids? Looks like it originated from them.
I might as well. None of the ones on google images come close to how odd and dark this one was. I feel like its something Ill have to find via someones collection rather than just the tag name. 🫠

Minimum order from Lehua is 15 plants, so you might want to go in with some friends. By default, selections are grower's choice, but for an additional charge, you can ask for specific crosses or characteristics (e.g. "Anything black, warty, and hairy, with high contrast in the center and dorsal").

Paph Paradise has Paph Blackjack for sale on their site. Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but may be worth a look.

If you are in no rush, I MIGHT be able to help you. I have a large # of paphs in different stages of bud development. Some from Lehua and some from Paph Paradise. I’ll be selling some in bud but I’m sure some won’t be sold until opened. Plus I want to see some opened in order to keep some. In other words, I was expecting a large # of them to continue living with me.

That bright green protruding staminode must be another clue… how I wish the orchid world would lean into DNA sequencing. We are doing them in mycology, thousands at a time, for $2 per sample. It’s not my area of interest but I support it and am mystified why orchidists don’t seem to be jumping in.

No rush would just love one much like it. Im looking for ones that I feel most people would think are ugly. With the warts and hair and strange overall look. Please do keep me posted.
