IMO, this represents the single most difficult color to adequately portray when photographing orchids. There is a bluish tint, with an obvious fluorescence, that film or digital cannot seem to capture.

This is the first blooming from an orginal division given to me two years ago.

Can't wait to use it to produce pinks!!!!!

Yes a common problem, because digital cams are blind for spectrum violet. So a bluish flower get pink.
 
Brian. I love it.. Stunning. but as you say, not the right colour.

I grew this plant for 5 years, and to me the pic is too deep. and lacks the bluish caste.

Is your plant as fragrant as mine.. Thats what made me love it from the start in 1989.

Smells great. Violet-blue is difficult to capture on film as well. I have never seen an adequate representation of this flower's color.
