Even a more common locally native orchid makes my day brighter.
Habenaria/Platanthera dilatata loves the ditches along especially the lower parts of the Going to the Sun Road in GNP, Montana USA. I always have to stop and gaze at them for a moment when we bike the road in the summer, before it opens to cars.
I think there's a spider lurking in there somewhere. I see a leg!
And I'm sorry, there's not orchids in the next two pictures PER SAY, but surely they are there under all those trees! I couldn't mention this particular road without a taste of the view!
Notice these sunset pictures are from rather up high, so we rode down mostly in the dark, skirting around not one but TWO mama bears. Never again. Daytime only. Anyway, I digress. Cute orchids that I always love to see!
