The more I see this species in bloom, the more I like it. These have nice color and are very cute!

Summed up nicely.

I sort of see this like tranlienianum- a super cool species that I would certainly self or sib or outcross way before I made a hybrid.

I think it could be a good thing for making compact and mini hybrids with beautiful leaves, but it's flowers wouldn't do much IMO.

Any of you see any potential for this as a hybrid parent?

Maybe onto thaianum, niveum, some of the section Barbata species???

What would you want to see this on? Other than your bench- that's obvious. I'm talking hybrids here.

Well, these look much nicer than the others posted here... These are actually pleasant to the eye. Hooray for selective breeding.

I'm thinking concolor: keeps the pink color but rounds out the flower a bit. A long shot would be sanderianum: think long candy-stripe petals with a well contrasting dorsal. But... its late in the day here and I've just come up from the xylol/ethanol fume filled histology lab.

Cute!! Can't wait for this species to be propagated and commercially available!

does it require cool climate to grow or bloom?

very nice looking flower.

Looking forward to see propagated plants of this species available in europe. Allthough I think that the first years the prices will be out of my budget.

Or should see if I can import a flask myself. Anyone seen flasks of this species available?

Hmmmmmm................
