The primary hybrid Cattleya Fabia was registered in 1894 as (dowiana x labiata). Another Cattleya Fabia was mistakenly registered in 1921 as (Atreus x Fabia). There was one 1964 HCC AOS award for Fabia (1894), but OrchidPro has no other information. A few online pictures indicate that Fabia (1894) is usually some shade of lavender or semi-alba.
Cattleya labiata characteristically has a double sheath, while dowiana has a single sheath. I watched hopefully as my Fabia (1894) from a recent remake of the hybrid developed a sheath for the first time and it was a double sheath.
I hope that flowering will occur so I can see other results from the battle of labiata and dowiana genes.
