A plant that I thought was not going to bloom this year has put up a lateish spike. More of the purpuratas and even a mossiae look like they’re doing the same. I just needed patience.
Although the growths aren’t big for this clone it’s still managed five flowers on a single spike,
It’s a division from Hilmar and at its best, is a large grower and bloomer. Fingers crossed for next year. It’s still recovering from the move.

What a display, looking forward to seeing it perform when fully recovered.
 
David, have you had the plant long enough to know how it checks the boxes for rooting after flowering? Are the growths shorter than your labiata plants? Ever a double sheath? It is a beautiful flower.
