First flowering of a Cattleya warscewiczii I have owned for a few years now. It is diffucult to flower this species in the Northern hemisphere due to low levels of sunlight in early spring when it starts growing. This year it started a second growth during our summer. Huge flowers, approx 20 cm. This is a selfing of the clone 'Hector', bought from AWZ.

Mathias, was the plant grown in a greenhouse or indoors under lights?
Indoor under lights until june, after that in a south-facing conservatory, in a sunny warm spot. It must have been the strong sunlight and the big difference in day and night temperature that did the trick. And that it made a second growth this year during summer.

Beautiful! Do you follow the low watering until the growths are a few inches tall regime, to help it set buds?
