Are all phrag cape sunsets triploid? I've been trying to cross sedenii 'westonbirt' with a cape sunset with no luck. At first I just assumed i was just dumb and couldn't find the girl parts. But today I found a developing pod on longifolium x inca embers, so apparently I can hit it sometimes. I've Googled chromosome counts before with little luck, but today I must have used better words. I found a mention of cs on a list of triploid hybrids. So now I'm wondering if they all are or if I found a cross using a converted parent?

I've bred lots of plants, just never orchids

Hybridising complex phrags can be very hit and miss. Sometimes you just have to persevere.
A lack of pods isn’t necessarily due to ploidy. I’m sure someone somewhere has a diploid CS that maybe fertile but finding it may be difficult.
