I quit 12 years ago this May and have not had a single one since. After another year or so you won't even think about it.

Quitting for good is definitely 100% possible.

Good for you, think of this forum as your support group, and think of all the extra money you will have- to spend on orchids. I quit years ago by promising my self a very expensive orchid book....
