I really enjoy the blossoms on this one although I am not a big fan of pink flower in general :poke:, they have been blooming for a month and more buds coming along !

Very nice, funny thing i just spoke to a good friend from Vancouver Island last night on Face time. He was telling me about growing these in his yard.
Said they are so easy fro him.

Growing in his yard in Vancouver Island? Not fair!!!

Dot, that's Canada's Florida/Arizona! I know so many people who have gone there to retire. I too, have always wanted to move there. I probably will one day. They can grow some species of Palm trees on the island! The gardening advantages would be so exciting. All the "exotic" stuff I could grow....makes my mouth water. :)

John, you also have to deal with 1000mm of annual rain and gloomy weather from November to May... it is called rainforest here for a reason, we are only missing the tropical temperatures ! But it is mild winters indeed.

I did visit there a few years ago. It was a beautiful, lush environment, but I didn't realize it was that warm in the winter.

As Jaljala says, it's wet and cloudy in the winter....and I do love the sun; so, I'd miss that. However, I think if the winter landscape was still quite green (not dead, brown and frozen!) and I had the opportunity to grow exciting, exotic plants outside and the winter driving was easier, I think I'd still prefer to put up with the lack of winter sun in order to enjoy the other perks of living in a milder climate.

I think you and I are both affected by the Great Lakes in the same way. Dull, dreary days from November through to sometime in February. So, while I'd love to live somewhere that has sunny winters, I'd rather live somewhere that has mild ones!
