Dear all,

Since around 20 years I cultivate this slipper orchid that I ordered from Popow as a small seedling as Paphiopedilum sanderianum x P. parishii. Within this time there were some ups and downs, but it flowers more or less every three to four years in summer with an inflorescence carrying three to four flowers. This winter an additional inflorescence emerged from a smaller shoot with only one flower and I wanted to take the chance that you can share your opinion with me what this plant might be, as it shows no similarity with P. parishii to me. The leaves are, compared to other Paphiopedilum species, slender, quite long and and the fan grows sideward with leaves hanging down. I cultivate this plant under the roof, in summer quite sunny and hot, now, due to every days cloudy sky, quite shady. The petals are around 27 cm long (very low air humidity now and drying off from the tip).

All the best

Here I checked for some older pictures of the same plant. They were taken on May 07. 2009, when I was able to carry the plant down into the garden. MayOrchidaceae Paphiopedilum sanderianum x cf.
