Thanks for looking, all! These were plated 5/16/23 so right at 1 year 5 months. I’m still learning some things and hope to shorten that a tad for catts and the like but seems pretty good nonetheless.

Some recently deflasked C. aurantiaca. These were some of my first seeds sown and they were in flask way too long. Seem to be doing well.

You bet…I should have said “different media”…these are all the same seed with the first 2 pics (I re-ordered them in the post) showing the difference in development due to different germination media formulations and the last 2 being initial replates, also on different media formulations. There are some real beasts in that 3rd pic.

Just made several transfers…they caught a bit of a sunburn but seem to be doing fine nonetheless. Not sure if there’s interest out there but should have some flasks available in 12 months or so depending on how things progress…I’ve read these take a little longer in flask but they seem to be trucking along so far.

just out of interest, would it not make more sense to sow the seeds with more space, so you can see the plants individually, when they germinate?
Where are you located?

Absolutely and it is something I’m working on as I’m still honing the craft. In this case, the seed was about a third of the size of what I’ve seen in cattleya, so the germination plates were quite thick…pic 3 and 4 above are replates!!! I’m in Colorado.
