Hello everybody!

While I have been posting already several times (specially to TPBM topic - just to get to know about you all ) I feel I should introduce myself properly.

My name is Liina and I am an orchidoholic. I grow orchids appr 12 years, but I have had houseplants since I remember myself. I know that I have them too many, but somehow they manage to sneak in to my appartement. My favorites are those in bloom at the moment. Today - dendrobium dickasonii, vanda denisoniana (what a smell - jasmine green tea!), coelogyne cristata. I have also about 20 paphs, my last favorite was Norito Hasegawa :D

As we, estonians say - we have only twelve months of bad ski weather and the only day we had sommer, I was at work - I try to make my day with nice plants.

:rollhappy:

mosquitos, hah! at mosquito season one is not able to open own mouth without getting a few hundred extra calories. :D

Welcome!
Wow, I have to keep my eyes out for a Vanda denisoniana. The fragrance you described seems delicious! :D

please!

Hi,
I love that saying!
...though I am fortunate enough that we usually do get a good two months of summer here in Ontario the rest of the year is snow, snow, wet, rain, snow, wet snow, ice, rain. So that saying will come in handy!

You'll enjoy it here. Everyone has been so welcoming to me!

Hi Liiana -- welcome!
Here in Michigan, especially the upper peninsula (where I am not), there is a saying that we have two seasons: Winter's Coming and Winter's Here.

Welcome Liina, from another newbie on this forum. It sounds as though your weather is rather like the weather in my part of the world. I have an Estonian friend, Liis, and after reading your description of your weather, I realize she must feel right at home living here!

thanks, everybody!
as sitting at home with really ugly flue (both flue and me are ugly right now :() any word that reminds about warmth, sun or nice weather (or perhaps even all of three together) are like red scarf for a bull

and my sympathy to all who have for some weird reason chosen hardiness zone 0 for living (like me :viking:)
