Hello everyone! My name is Stephen and im an orchid nutter :rollhappy: I have orchids growing almost everywhere in my house including the toilet! My favorite orchids are Paphs, Phrags and the Australian Dendrobiums.
Growing orchids has always been my grand father's dream, so in order to for-fill his dream I have took up growing and showing orchids. So far i haven't taken any to the shows yet, but my parents are on a role Although still under the novice tables, the results has been great.
With the Paphs starting to bud and bloom, i cant wait to post photos of the blooms. I mainly keep my Paph collection indoors beside my aquarium. The Paphs receive morning sunlight as well as artificial lighting via a Metal Halide and T5 hybrid system. All the Paphs have humidity trays under them, and a fan beside my aquarium to blow the humidity air to the orchids. So far they are growing very well.
I have always loved hybrids, but have now started to collect species plants. Most of my species are only small plants in 50mm pots, but hopefully they up healthy with showy blooms.
Hopefully by joining this warming family here i would learn more about growing Paph and Phrags.
Nice to meet you all.
Stephen
