Hi to all.

I started orchid-growing about 3 years ago. I'm now 50 plants. Mostly phals.
At the moment I only have three phragmipediums and six paphipedilums.

But I want more.

My best result: a bud from phragmipedium wallisii.

And now I have to wait for the bloom.

Welcome Claudia

I have a wallisii at the same level of spike as yours right now.

Do you know the parentage of your plant?

Thanks at all!

@ NY Eric: Thanks for the german greeting!

@ Rick: I don't know the parentage of my wallisii. I bought it last year at "Schwerter-Orchideenzucht" in Germany.

Hi Claudia, welcome from Switzerland... I also have a Phrag. wallisii from Schwerter... no clue also about the parentage either, but here you can have an idea of what you could expect:

this year: 5 flowers, 50 cm long petals...

Note: if you have cats... they will love eating the petals

Welcome to the forum Claudia!!!!!!! I would love to see some pics of your phals too...:) Or your growing area (there is a thread about it)...

Ramon, I hope your cat wasn't that naughty with your plants...!!!

well, yes.. I normally avoid orchids or any other plants with "grass-like" leave, because my two cats love eating them (even if a place some special grass for cats, tehy ignore it and go for the other plants). Phrag. wallisii.. hmm... I never thought about the long petals and the cats until now :(
