I've been lurking around here for quite a while, and I've really enjoyed following all the discussion so thought I would post and join in...

Some of you may know me from the Slipper Orchid Forum. I live in Columbus, OH and I am an indoor under-lights paph grower. My main focus is P. rothschildianum.

Anyway, great community here, I look forward to talking with y'all!

Were those your roths at the last COOS meeting? I didn't know they could be grown so successfully under lights! Welcome!

welcomed justin from upstate ny. I have a paph roth that clark wanted to part with and it's growing a little, but since you have the same sort of conditions I was wondering what you have yours potted in and how you grow it? thanks (I grow under lights)

:clap::clap: What took you so long to come on over? WELCOME! Glad you made it!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I'm excited to be part of the community here!

Yep, those were mine :)

I grow the mature plants under metal halide lamps, in a standard bark/perlite/charcoal mix. I use reverse osmosis water and fertilize liberally. I find they love the seasonal contrast of chilly ohio winters along with the humid summers...same as your conditions!

hmmm, (smile) we do have the same conditions, except unfortunately I don't have the metal halide lamps, r/o water or an adult plant! but, from what I've read I guess they like water, fertilizer, higher pH and warm temps
thanks,
charles
