Heather just reminded me that I'm missing... I though I was missing from a different forum... *grin*

Anywho, I'm back. :)

just got out of the habit, and then thought this was the one I was boycotting/semi-banned from for no good reason. *grin* That is the other one.

Good news is that my new growing area is much more suited to slippers than anything else, so I'll be growing more. Looking for good stuff when the weather gets nicer.

LEDs are great! Blooming lots of stuff I haven't seen bloom in years. That could be the shock of moving to a new location, but so far I'm pleased with the results. Does look kind of weird though.

Need to do more updating of the website, but there is a tour of the plant room there.

Ya, I watched those videos on youtube a while back. Those are HD racks!!! Have you seen the LED arrays that you can turn up or down the output of the blue and red LEDs? How about the green and amber LED lights? Have you set any seed pods under the LEDs?

I've seen the adjustable LEDs, haven't tried them. A lot of LED products are designed for people growing far more profitable crops than I... They are correspondingly expensive. I can see some use in changing spectrum based on what I'm doing, for example my foliage plants probably only need blue. And it might be interesting to grow smallish orchids (slippers!) under blue for a year or so to 'bulk them up', before switching to red to induce blooming. But I haven't tried it yet.

Green light is useless in my opinion. Plants don't use it, they spit it back at your face (that is why plants are green!). The bigger units i use have some amber in them... Just saw a new unit at the local hydro shop that had 8 colors. I was not impressed... If I wanted white light I'd use it.

No seed pods yet. I haven't been doing much breeding lately. Too busy moving. Now that I'm settling in to the new place I'll probably start doing some crosses again.

I've seen those LED videos on the dart frog forum (not sure if it's ok to post the name). Very nice growing area!

very polite! don't worry, almost nobody gets banned around here ;)

we are all equal opportunity enablers, meaning the more places for us to spend our time (and money), the better! .. by the way that means it's okay to post whatever information or plant source you would like, as we likely would like it as well
