Hello,
I fell in love with orchids when I was 15, after visiting a friend of my mothers who had a greenhouse full of cattleyas. That was many years ago, but my love has only grown.
I live in South Florida so the climate is perfect for so many varieties, but alas my favorites are phragmipediums, many of which do not love our hot climate. But as necessity is the mother of invention, I have learned over the years that I can still grow the cool to intermediate phrags in a couple of very bright windows and under led lights. The warm to hot loving phrags are outside with the balance of my eclectic orchid collection.
Over the past year I have been investing in flasks of phrag hybrids, especially those with flavum influence. I look forward to watching how these babies develop over the next couple of years and hope to share that with you.
I look forward to reading the posts and sharing our experiences.
