I grew a non-coerulea form of this orchid and it is definitely the lip that is the show. To create space, I recently gave this away. This species was described in the late 1800's. I don't know the details of the story, but in 2008 the authorities at Kew decided that the species should be named Cattleya bicalhoi. Part of this is the moving of the a group of Brazilian Laelias into Cattleya where they seem to belong. I don't know about the changing of dayana to bicalhoi but this is almost always related to who first actually described a species in print.
