Hi!
I walked into the greenhouse on Saturday and was surprised to see this one in bloom. I purchased it on eBay a few months ago from Kawamoto Orchids. At the time, it had an empty sheeth. It was a pleasant surprise to see three flowers greeting me when I wasn't expecting it. It is Laelia purpurata var. flammea '#6' x Laelia purpurata var. flammea '#7'. It has three flowers on a first time seedling. The NS is just over five inches in diameter.
And here's a full plant photo for NYEric:
This plant has a smaller growth habit than my other purpuratas. It aslo has a shorter distance between rhizomes. I think it's a keeper!
Best Regards,
Nik von Ruden
P.S. Here's a link to an eBay auction for another plant of this same cross. Check out the mom and dad.
