Looking for a compact Jason Fischer

I heard that Jason Fischers do not have a stoloniferous growth habit. I wonder if anyone has one that also exhibits a smaller leafspan (12" or less)? Thanks in advance for your response

My Jason Fischers aren't as stoloniferous as Don Wimber but as they are 3/4 besseae they will have that tendency. They are compact when young, but if grown to potential they can be 24" or more across, and of course they flower much better.

No, they are small but really hard to grow.

Yes, plus you get a lot of sequential blooms.

Agree with Eric - fischeri is tiny, but a pain to grow, IMO.

How about Phrag. Waunakee Sunset (Barbara LeAnn x besseae)? Plants stay compact - easier to grow than straight fischeri - and flowers are colorful; some flowers can be bright red if besseae is used as the pod parent. and others can be a mixture of yellow/pink if besseae fma flavum is in background. Just a thought.........

Thank you for this suggestion Tom, I am just starting to look at the wide array of besseae hybrids and wasn't familiar with this one!

A question though, from photos on the web, I can see a lot of variation among individual Waunakee Sunset plants. I read a thread posted by Dot showing 11 plants from the same flask made by Chuck Acker and there were reds and many gradations.

Does one always this this wide variation with Waunakee Sunset?
