Ludisia (Haemaria) discolor var. nigrescens “Ambrosia”

Got this as a single sprig from Hausermann’s only 2 years ago. It’s really quite a show. I find that once they bloom their guts out like this, they go to hell for a long time; some take years of work to return to specimen status. I like them though. Have had the regular species since high school, back when it was still Haemaria! This “nigrescens” is kind of irresistible and has grown with ridiculous ease for me. Potted as it came, 5-inch shallow plastic pot, peaty perlite soil. Watered weekly RO/K-Lite, 2 feet back from an east window.
