This is my tiniest orchid. The "log" it's mounted on is the thickness of my thumb. I'm not pleased with the photos.

Both the flowers and the foliage are amazing. A really interesting and beautiful plant, thanks for sharing.

...Nothing wrong with your shots either that I can tell - perhaps a bit more grain to them than usual?
Actually, they are over-sharpened. I couldn't get the focus or depth of field right with my semi-automatic camera that can get close-ups of tiny flowers -- too much rain and dark skies for good photography with it, and my manual camera can't get close enough. I know, it's a bad craftsman that blames her equipment... This is the first time this plant has bloomed, so I have no idea how long the flowers will last. If the weather improves in the next couple of days, and the flowers are still good, I may try again.

BTW, to note how close-up this is: the black texture behind the plant in the first photo is black velvet -- it almost looks like burlap!

nice performance Dot to grow those very small ones, keep them alive, and bring them to flower!!! I had not yet seen this one, but the blooms look great!! Jean

Interesting plant with interesting flowers. I agree with Jean I haven't seen this one before yet.
I understand your dissatisfaction concerning these photos. If I was you I wouldn't be really pleased too but they are not bad just not perfect. Sometimes you are just a 'victim of circumstances'.

Best regards from Germany, rudolf

I thought you did very well with the pictures! Try getting close ups of tiny corals under 20K lighting:poke:

What lens are you using? The coral people swear by the 100mm macro lens, but I'm not sure it would help my photo taking "skills".

OMG - I would have never guessed! As others have said - neat foliage & the flowers look like they could be pretty decent size for a mini.

I have a 50mm and 105mm macro, and think with how close you would have to be for aquarium closeups that the 100 or 105 would work well, doesn't seem like you would ever be stuck with something so far back that a 100 macro wouldn't be able to get it close-up
forgot to add before that if you got a tripod (if you didn't have one already) it would make your life much easier

nice pictures also. if you used a standard light bulb or fluorescent to add light to the flowers, you could just color-correct
