It is far from a fantastic photos but it doesn't look like I am going to get all the blooms to cooperate. Even before the first flower is fading the plant is developing a new flower on the old stem.
Initially, the old stems just faded along with the flower but now, third time flowering, it is finally beginning to behave like its tovarensis parent. I expect big things next flowering season.
A big surprise is that this cross has preserved the fragrance of the mejiana parent. The fragrance is strong but only present around midday.
I do wish tovarensis was used in more crosses as the heat tolerance is much appreciated. I have not been successful with other Masdies in my basement.
This plant is currently growing in lava rock. Fertilizer was K-light but is now Miracle Grow. It is grown under lights (LED shop light). It is watered once or twice a week. The is pot is a yoghurt tub with a holes punched about half an inch from the bottom so there is a water reservoir. Fertilization is once a week from spring to fall, once a month in winter. Plants are sprayed every morning.
