Mexipedium: what do I do next?

What do I have to do next? Just put some substrate under the shoot and it will establish itself? Same substrate than adult plant?

You should put it in a shallow/wide pot so the new growth can root into media also.

Maybe take a large shallow tray and fill it with the media you're using, and then find a way to hold down the shoot in the media. If there is more moist media around a plant and a shoot starts I think if you point it carefully into the media it will decide to grow there instead of continuing to run
The shoots can be very brittle so have to be careful!

I am using big shallow pots too.

Shallow pots work well. I use a bonsai pot. I also use a wider gauge aluminum floral wire - snip about an inch and a half and bend into a "U" shape. Then poke the two ends down into the media with the runner under the U. As Charlie said, be gentle!

For what it's worth I think I would not touch it. The mother plant is healthy and to disturb it now may be a bad thing. The new plantlet will continue to develop perfectly well as it is.

That's my experience, at least. No contact to Substrate, no roots. I grow in a shallow bowl, too. And yes, the Stolons are brittle.
