Miltonia moreliana ( or as you may prefer, Miltonia spectabilis var. moreliana) is flowering again. 'Spectabilis' is right, as the flowers are huge, dark, impressive, fragrant and photogenic:

Lovely flowers and these aren't easy to grow and bloom
and then keep the plant alive in my experience. If I remember correctly, Miltonia like coolish conditions to
flourish.

Stunning! Love this species and its numerous hybrids. The only drawback is the very untidy growing habit.

The Brazilian Miltonias and Colombian Miltoniopsis are two different genera. Miltonias are warm growing, Miltoniopsis like it cool. Miltonias are easy grow, given conditions just like other Oncidiinae but brighter light.

Thank you all!
I'm growing this plant in a wire basket. It is growing outside, winter minimum last winter 8ºC (normal would be 15ºC) diurnal around 22ºC. In Summer min 22ºC and max 28ºC (and the heat peaks, of course).
Getting watered every other day and sometimes sprays. Hanging in a big bush of Hibiscus schizopetalus it gets dappled sun. The more sun it gets, less green are the leaves, but his is reversible! The wiry roots often die away but regrow with ease. Maximum ventilation, of course.
I found it a easy plant to grow. Nothing to compare to the close related Miltoniopsis and their hybrids, unforgiving to high summer spells and low humidity.
So far disease free, no pests. But yes, a very untidy and spreading growth, but, on the other side, mostly two new grows per lead, and often two growths one after the other. Not every lead flowers, last year I had three flowers, this year it will be eight.

Oh, I used to have one of these. They smell so good! The only downside is that they grow with longish rhizomes, which means lots and lots of shelf space required. The flowers are nice and big, too!
