First, a general picture of my house and landscape. I have planted most of the trees you will see. The whole property is 55,000 square feet. It used to be more than 800,000 but I sold most of it since to a neighbour farmer

The greenhouse. It's 16 x 16 feet and horribly expansive to heat in Winter. It's not a commercial gh. In fact, I have not a single business fiber in my body and I'm just as likely to give plants away than sell them, usually at half the price when I do.

The shade house. All orchids are taken out in summer and put in there or under lamps inside the house. Much empty by now as the plants are gradually returning inside the house.

Lots of crabapples trees. Very beautiful in spring but lots of yoga exercices when mowing the lawn.

And the back of the backyard, Two willows, poplars, a weeping birch and evergreens.

Finally, the masdevallias and draculas corner on the shaded balcony. I hope you enjoyed the tour. :)

So nice to have breathing room! Thanks for the tour!
During the summer your GH is empty?
That looks to be a nice size GH, seems like alot of work to move plants outside during the summer.

Yes empty in summer. except for the dead bugs. He! He! He!

A lot of work also. Sometimes in spring, it gets way too cold and I have to carry everything inside. Then when it gets hot for several days, back outside. Then back inside and so on until the temps get stable. I don't mind though, I do need the exercice anyway.

Thanks for the tour, Shiva! It's quite lovely! By the way, I adore that Blue Spruce shown in the first photo! We had several of them in our yard when I was a kid growing up in Minnesota. They don't grow in California where I now live.

Shiva, in the fourth photo down there is a large plant on the right. Is that a Sobralia?

Lovely Quebec :) Are you hockey fan ??

I used to be, but big money ruined everything for me. Still, it was exciting in the old days and totally awesome when the USSR team met Team Canada in the early 70s. I hope you saw that. :D

Sobralia dichotoma! Hasn't flowered yet. Prabably still a seedling... :)

In my answer to Wojtek, I spoke of the old days. How ironic it is that as we get older, we think of our youth as the old days. :p
