I ordered 6 new paphs (paph paradise) recently:
First two because they looked pretty :
Fanaticum (malipoense xmicranthum) and
QF Warden (Lorraine’s Pride x wardii)
Then:
Another Wossner Black Wings (I already have one from Krull-Smith and even as a youngling, its leaf span is quite large. Since Paph Paradise often breeds for compact leaf span I wanted to compare the two)
Yang-Ji Apple (phillippinense x anitum) (I have Yang-Ji Hawk, which is sanderianum x anitum and wanted to compare them)
And two sequential bloomers:
Magic Rainbow (Magic Paradise x liemianum) and Technicolor Paradise (Magic Paradise x victoria-mariae). From my original orchid collection, I have the sequential bloomer Victoria’s Passion (victoria-mariae ‘Pink Charm’ x lowii ‘Dragon Flight’) and I thought it would be interesting to, again, compare their behavior.
Except for the blooming QF Warden, I repotted them on arrival and they all are looking good! I tend to be nervous until I see the first new roots growing in the medium. They are currently inside my quarantine orchidarium, which is just a commercial terrarium outfitted with pebbles, LED grow light and a small fan for air movement.
