Well, I'll put frogs in these eventually. Mostly pleurothallids, a few ferns and some rarer foliage plants that just don't do well for me in the 'greenhouse'. What you don't see in the pictures is my new 'Mist-king' fogging system, each tank has two foggers built in. Mostly pleurothallids, not very densely planted (I might add a few more plants).

Lighting is two high intensity white LED strips. There is no flash, that is how bright those tanks really are.

One and a bit of the tanks before serious planting:

What Ospaph said - I love terrariums, but somehow they always end up becoming another aquarium! The downside of loving Discus, I'm afraid. The current spawn numbers 100 plus. Now WHERE are they all going!!!

Thank-you very much.
Love the detail - using cork as the mounts seems like a great idea as it doesn't rot easily. Can you get the sphagnum to grow?
Are the leaves in the bottom just for effect?

People use a wide variety of things in the background. Driftwood is popular. Epiweb is increasingly popular. I like the look of cork.

Yes, you can get moss to grow with sufficient humidity and enough light. I expect I'll see some growing in there soon, it usually sprouts up from the 'dead' moss on the mounts. Leaves are there as cover for the frogs that will eventually be added. The more hiding spaces you have the more confident and active the frogs will be. Leaves are new for me, I usually rely on lots of plants. But I want this to be fairly sparse on plant material so I can see the orchids. Plus they look pretty cool. Have to add more leaves eventually, of course.

LED lights and no window should take care of the boiling problem. Still no guarantee I won't kill them in some other way! *grin*

Heh. We had to blow our own glass for terrariums, the lights were beeswax candles, and pleurothallids hadn't even evolved as a clade when I started, young whippersnapper. :)

Nothing fancy, just some azureus and auratus. I used to have lots of different frogs, at this point I have none, so I'm building up slowly.
