Or Rhynchostele rossii

I purchased this plant at our local orchid society meeting from our guest speaker, Gordon Heaps of Edmonton. It was in flower then, finished soon after and then quickly sent out another spike with two flowers. Lovely little thing!

Hi Tracey,

That is a great bloom. I'm going to have to see if Gordon has any more for sale. I like the series of photos as well. They help to bring the bloom to life.

When I opened the thread. I immediately look at the tag and thought that the hand writing is familiar. After that I read your post and I chuckled a bit and knew it was bad if I can recognize a plant with the hand writing in the tag.

Great plant though. Very Pretty.

Huh! I was reminding myself of the culture for this species and then started looking at other photos on the web and realized that this particular flower that the fly was so interested in is actually mutated! The yellow structure below the column (does it have a specific name?) has been repeated so there are three instead of one. My guess is this was a result of the rapidly changing environment as it moved from Gordon's growing space, was transported by van from Edmonton to Saskatoon (5 to 6-hour drive), and then adapted to my environment! It'll be interesting to see the next flowers....
