I got this plant as a gift about 4 1/2 years ago. It blooms constantly even though it tends to get neglected. A couple months ago I decided to repot it after it quit blooming, but it wouldn't stop. So, I just went ahead and repotted and this is what happened. The plant is about the size of a dinner plate .

african violets were my "gateway drug" on the path to total plant addiction. I learned how to keep african violets alive by the time I was 12 years old, by 15 years, I had gotten my first orchid fix, by 25 I was a hopeless orchid addict. My habit still costs me nearly a quarter of my income a year. Its a hopeless addicton. Help :(

Nah, I really don't want any help, orchids are a great addiction, :rollhappy:

Nicely grown and bloomed violet.

It's gorgeous! You should try some leaf cuttings. They are very easy to propagate. :)

My aunt has had several African violets on her kitchen windowsil for as much as 40 years. I can't keep them alive for 3 months! She has never repotted them or treated them special but they just carry on and on and on... Some people have all the luck.

Susan, yours is a good looking plant.

Great looking specimen plant and very freely blooming!! You're doing it all just right!! I have to admit I have been neglecting my african violets since I got the orchid bug! Think I'll repot and give them a little attention- your plant is truly an inspiration! Thanks for sharing!

I just don't have the knack for these. I had one when I was about 13 that just bloomed and bloomed, but now they just sit there and do nothing. I guess I'll stick to orchids. BTW, very nice picture.
