Paph argus

From a Quintal Farms order. Not as many spots on the dorsal as I would like.

Not a very dark clone that we expect of an argus. I have two of these from QF too. Lets see how they compare when (and if) they bloom (as they are same size). I suspect the parents were not the dark forms (?).

I had to take a look at a picture of the one I havebecause it hasn't flowered in a while and it does have more tiny spots on the dorsal sepal, as well as more spots on the lateral petals. The tips of the lateral petals are a deeper red or violet. At least yours is flowering.

The petal spots are out of balance too. The flower's left as more

It could just be a sign of the ugly duckling syndrome of a first bloom (nervous plant LOL). Next time around might be better.

I take back where it came from. I believe it came from Paph Paradise as I think about it.

Was the tag original? If so, check print or writing? Your pot, mix and plant looks exescyly like mine from QF. Could be coincidence?
