Paph armeniacum

I was sold this plant as Paph micranthum. I was pleased when it bloomed as Paph armeniacum. I have another Paph armeniacum that I have had difficulty blooming. Perhaps the cool bright winter I give micranthums might help the armeniacums also.

Gorgeous pouch! You can always tell the difference between micranthum and armeniacum by feeling the leaves. Paph. micranthum has a rough texture and armeniacum has a smooth texture. Even though they look more or less identical, there's no mistaking the texture of the foliage.

I met Jason Fischer at our show. We're working a deal for later in the year that might involve you shipping some things to me, if you are willing.

No, the plant didn't come from you and if it had, I would thank you. I like it. It may have come from Sun Moon but by a different route.

Very nice and nice surprise! I think there is a way to tell the difference by the leaves. Not sure which is which, but one of them has a little 'arrow' in the veining at the tip of the leaves. Might not be a guaranteed way of telling the difference, but now that you know what you have, try and compare the leaves.

I have found this true also, and have grown several plants of both species. If you put a blindfold on, you could easily discern which is which.
