It's not fully opened yet, but I couldn't contain myself. It's not particularly colourful (as I've seen they can be), but due to its size I love it! It's so darn small! Only 6 cm wide and high (less than 2 1/2"). :rollhappy:

I think it's smaller than normal (or what I've read on slipperorchids.info is the norm at least) because of the tiny fans. It's a stress blooming, but I think I'll let the flowers bloom until they wilt by themselves, since it has two bigger and already flowered fans, plus a fourth new one (beside the three in bud) that so far doesn't show any sign of blooming. I hope it's going to grow a normal sized leaf instead.

I'll update the thread when all three flowers are open. :D

I don't know, these can be pretty small plants/flowers. I don't think its all that stessed. Good start

Trust me, it is a stress blooming. The largest leaves on the previously flowered fans are about 8 cm (3 1/4") but on these three fans, the largest leaves are 5 cm (2"). :/

Sublaveae is often about 1/2 the size of big Vietnamese calosum. Probably about he same as straight barbatum.

But they do like decent humidity to get to full leaf size potential.

Like it! I feel like there is a bud coming slowly in the first of my seedlings...

Callosums are notorious for blooming on what looks like an immature growth. A lot of the Barbata group does this without being stressed.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I'll report them to my little one, I bet it'll be delighted to hear them. :D

I know I wrote that I wouldn't update the thread until all three buds were completely opened, but as usual, I can't wait.

Here it is with two flowers opened:

The first flower completely open (it's a bit crowded behind it):

NOW I'll be a good girl and not update this thread until all three flowers are opened (and maybe even four, I think the fourth bud is growing, but I'm not certain). :D

Thanks guys! I didn't realize how murky the first picture was... :p

very good stance.
.................and a 'girl' who refers to herself as 'The Mutant'!!??
I really like the stance, it makes it look even more elegant.

Yup, I've taken my nick after my favourite little peloric Phal, which happens to be nicknamed "The Mutant". :D
