This was sold to me as Paph barbatum which it is obviously not. So I was a bit dissappointed when it first flowered. It is not even a particularly good callosum. I had this plant originally in a bark mix and it was really going backwards. Leaves browning off everywhere. Since putting it in a CHC mix it has really picked up. Just need to see more flowers now.

Very nice colours. Before I read the thread far enough down to see your comment about it possibly being var. sublaeve, that is what I thought....that it was sublaeve. It's not bad for a sublaeve. If it is sublaeve, you should get double flowered stems though and multiple stems on a big, bushy plant. It's disappointing that it was mislabelled; but, give it time, it'll "grow" on you!

I agree with John that is nice and that is pobably sublaeve. It looks like it has that "grow-out-of- the-pot" syndrome like mine!

Deceptive photo. The flower isn't that large. Certainly not as big as my normal callosum form. Maybe this is the sublaeve form of callosum?

Those down swept petals and dense growth habit sure make it look like a sublaeve.

The ranges of barbatum and sublaeve overlap, and apparently there are natural inter grades of the two, which doesn't help in ID.

Nice...a few years ago, it was written up that many plants being sold as "barbatum' were really sublaeve.
