The dorsal is ruffled on this blooming, but is nice and large. Hopefully it will open flatter on next bloom.

wow... nice... as david already asked, how vigorous is this compared to the normal one?

Oh, I like it!

It's not one of those Pride of Tokyo-selfings, isn't it? Pretty wide petals for the variety.

best wishes,

This is a sib cross of two half albas from the Orchid Zone. The cross was made by Sam Tsui. I bought a flask from him a few years back. Seven plants showed albinistic colors on the leaves. One died, a friend has one, and this is the third to bloom for me. Number 4 is in bud.

I got a plant from Sam, so looks like we might have sibs ........
so where's the bud on mine?:(

Yes, same question, where's the bud on mine? ***Ed goes out to the greenhouse to look at his plant again.***

The buds seem to come when there are at least three growths, two mature. #1 was the exception, blooming on one + growth, but it dropped the flower quickly and has taken two years to come into bud, again.

I LOVE chuck worth sandow!!!

Ross, you're my hero! Honestly, folks, this man can raise seedlings from flask most masterfully! Keep it up buddy.

This is really sweet Ross. I can live with that dorsal. What's next? Cross it w/a complex white?

Probably a sib cross of the two best flowers. Here's the other two that have bloomed.

This is #1. My apologies for the poor color. The flower was just opening as we were preparing to leave for Chicago, and we were in the middle of a thunderstorm, so I couldn't get any natural light. Just as I was about to try a different setting on the camera, the power went out. I figured it was no big deal as I could get more pics when we returned. Unfortunately, the flower was already fading when we returned. It is a nice chunky plant and flower, and is in bud.

This flower was smaller, but has nice form. However, the plant is not as vigorous as #1 or #3, and the dorsal did reflex slightly over time. This one is not in bud, but I have the pollen from its previous bloom.

Any suggestions or comments regarding a sib cross? Both #1 and #3 are big enough to carry a seed pod
