Division from Arnie Klehm. Flower is a little small on this blooming but the plant still needs to establish more roots. Was hoping to makes some crosses with this since I like the genetics so much but not sure if I love all of the brown color.

I like the color and the shape is great. I would be very curious what you would think to cross that with?

The orchid zone made a very successful cross called Crazy Jolly. Was thinking maybe something like that. I like how crazy horse seems to be dominant for wide petals and petal stance. I will need to bloom this clone again to see if I can get a bigger flower. It was big when awarded. Terry Root used a clone called ‘understatement’ which I understand was very large. I like the unusual color of crazy jolly but I’m a little stuck on picking a direction as this does seem to mute colors and add some brown. It might be interesting to try ‘two tone reds’ where the petals and pouch are a mahogany color and the dorsal is brushed in a deeper red. Not sure I will use it this year though

I have a 3rd gen cross of this following the crazy jolly line but going back onto a green (I think stone crazy x sorcerers prime). It turned out all green with pretty good form and very large size. That direction gets past the brown/muddy color but keeps the size and form. Interesting to think about for sure. I love the genetics with Hellas and WC as parents

Crazy Jolly is a very large bloom and lighter. I would encourage the mahogany and two tone red direction you are thinking. Your crazy horse looks like it would lend itself to a darker flower. I do really like Crazy Jolly for being different.
