check out the registration for Crouching Tiger -

so does this mean that the name is now no longer valid for this cross or that the RHS will jsut have to amend their information?

Thanks for finding that out. I am the one who registered that cross, and yes it should be Paph. Bel Royal and not Belle Royale. The RHS will amend their information (I will let Julian Shaw, the orchid registrar know about it).

Whoo Wee that was a close one Robert. Did RHS mis-type the Bel Royal? Do you have a copy of the orginal paperwork you submitted?

Julian (the orchid registrar) already contacted me that he is going to change it to Bel Royal. Actually I was the one that wrote a typo. In the registration form I had entered it as Belle Royal. Julian had assumed I meant Belle Royale, so changed it to that. I think that is why they changed the rules, if names look too much alike, it will not get accepted. Now they would not accept "Belle Royale" if Bel Royal already exists.
