When I saw my first Dollgoldi in person it was love at first sight. John Robertson bought a nice flowering plant to Sydney one year. Gigantic golden yellow flowers on a towering spike. I had seen nothing like it before. I couldn't keep my eyes off it. I had to have one. It took me a while to find a Dollgoldi (they are hard to get here) and then a couple of years to flower it. It is not as nice as John's plant or John M's for that matter. The yellow is not a deep colour. But the flowers have nice shape and they are on a nice tall spike and are well spaced. I'm pretty happy overall. I shouldn't have to wait too long for the next flowering either.

For the Australian members, the roth parent used is "Queenslander" FCC/AOC. So this is from local breeding using the only Australian FCC awarded roth.

Damn! David that is outrageous! I've been trying for a number of years now with no such luck! I have a single fan plant about the size of yours, obviously I'm going to have to wait longer for it be multigrowth:( Not to mention all the others that love to do the boom and bust thing!

Just fantastic

Great looking plant. It's one of my favorit paphs. Last year I bought 10 or 12 n.b.s. of them from two crosses. Let's see how long it takes me to flower one. I'm betting at least 4 years or so.

Look forward to seeing those in flower. Four years sounds about right. With thay many, you should regularly have at least one in flower.

I recently bought a single growth division of another Dollgoldi. It still looks a fair way away from flowering size. I could be looking at least four years away from flowering it.

Rick I bought this as a division in April 2010. It had 3 medium size growths (one larger than the other two), a small new start and a tiny new lead. None of the growths had flowered. It has been pretty slow going. Almost 3 years to get it to flower from a good size clump. Growth has been quite slow but steady. The two smaller growths have barely moved. The current growth in flower has just put out a new lead and it seems to be growing a little faster. I expect the two larger growths will be mature after this growing season and hence I won't have to wait too long to see those flower. But it maybe a bit of a wait after that as there will be a whole series of smaller growths. I think this hybrid resents being divided a bit and takes a while to re-establish. So hopefully it will start to pick up now.
