Thanks for sharing your updated photo.
I'm finding the same thing. I always thought they were easy to grow, but that's not my experience.
The second photo in the very first posting and this lastest photo are simply amazing!!
What camera and background do you use if you don't mine my asking?
Let's see...I've tried leimianum years ago which was purchased in spike. Once it bloomed, it went on for over one year until I accidently broke it off.
It took a very long time (over one year!) for the new growth to even start!
It did have pretty nice flowers, but I got rid of it.
I got another one, this time, a large seedling but bought as a blooming size.
I had it for a little over one year before seeing it flower for the first time.
I got rid of it as the flower wasn't to my liking.
I've tried two chamberlainianum at the same time. Soooo very slow in doing anything at all!!!
It absolutely drove me insane to say the least.
One of them did flower and the quality was great. I got rid of it nonetheless.
The other one never flowered and I threw it away one angry morning. haha
Then, I've tried some primary of cochlo. All super duper slow.
I now have chamberlanianum x malipoense, which had great flowers (to my liking, that is) after about one year of growing it from a near blooming size plant. It is now pushing two new growths. Slower than other paphs I have, but better than species I have tried.
I also bought a blooming sized Green Envy ( malipoense by either primulinum or Pinocchio?) two years ago at a show, but it definitely wasn't a blooming size as it at least doubled the size since.
It has started a new growth next to the main growth this year. It looks kind of like it is making a sheath deep down at the center although I'm not quite certain just yet.
I have one Victoria-reginae bought as a blooming size at a show two years ago. It has since grown about twice as big. still no sign of making any flowers. I'm very anxious to see it bloom one day.
Let's see what else I have.
Hung Sheng Pink (emersonii x moquettianum) bought with a low sheath in January this year. Slow.
Oh, the only cochlo primary that grows with good speed and blooms reliably is my Deperle (colored version), which is now multiple growths plant in just short three years.
I have no plan on buying anything related to cochlo any more, unless it is a very nice liemianum with dark green dorsal with nice thick white halo.
