This is a first bloom seedling. I'm not an experienced paph grower so I don't have a lot a references for these things, but, I was surprised that a seedling this small bloomed. The plant is also putting out two new growths.

The first bloom is deformed. A third bud is developing. The flower is 14.5 cm wide (5.75 inches). With my limited experience here I would appreciate any comments you would like to give about the flower quality.

I think for that cross it is a great result, and the fact it bloomed on a small plant sounds unusual to me.
If I am not mistaken, these kind of crosses are often difficult to bloom, and deformed flowers are not unusual.
You took a great photo too!

Gorgeous color and two big blooms plus a vigorous growing plant. I'd say uncork the champaign and have a ball.:rollhappy:

This intense burgundy colour is lovely and the shape of the flowers is good. That's a beautiful exemplar of this cross - at least in my eyes.

Exceptional colour. Above average if you ask me. Shape looks pretty good although it would be nice to see a more front-on photo. You often get deformed flowers first flowering so you shouldn't have a problem in future flowerings. It will look even better in future flowerings.

I have to agree with others. Your plant has the potential in all the right places to be very rewarding for years to come. As far as awardable, you'll never know unless you take it to judging! (on future bloomings)

That's awesome....esppecially the colour! Just wait until the next blooming....it will only get better and better.:clap:
