First bloom and I’ve been busy with work and didn’t photograph it until the pouch was beginning to wilt (apologies to Dave), but i was surprised by the vibrancy of the color and wanted to share.

Beautiful flower. It is vibrant. Strong new growth, too.

How old is the flower? I didn't know they could mericlone this...very unusual.

I’m ashamed to say that I don’t recall exactly how old. Less than a month. Not as long lasting as our wolterianum.

I expect the flower of this hybrid will last 4 weeks or so. Are you sure it is "mericlone"? If so, it will be my first time to see a flower photo of a mericloned Paph. Maybe a division? just curious.

It was certainly new to me, but a mericloned Gloria Naugle seemed like a good investment. In the short time I’ve been collecting orchids I think I’m at between 500-600 which I grow under lights in my office. All to say that at this point I’ve tried to reign myself in a bit and have started purchasing divisions, selects or something in bloom since I don’t have the space to grow out a lot of seedlings. (Saying that while I’m looking at 12 flasks)
